Tell us about yourself
My name is Dare Ademola and I’m an entrepreneur. I strongly believe that a life without purpose is a life not worth living, and also, a life with a selfish purpose, is purpose not worth having. That being said, I strongly believe that the end goal of every person, should be to impact people positively, that is one thing I stand for.
Other than being an entrepreneur, I’m a Business Major (Project Management and Business Analysis) at Towson University. Once I graduate I will apply the knowledge I learnt from school to develop my business.
What inspired you to create your dance team?
One of the main reasons why I created a dance group is first because I love dancing. Secondly it was an opportunity for me to create a platform where I could minister to people through dance. Thirdly I created the group because I realized that we have a lot of Christian dance groups that do very well but most of the time, they dance to secular music. So it's usually very hard to tell whether they are Christians or not. I believe that one day I will get big, but I want to get big by dancing to gospel music, and not secular music. That way it will be an avenue for people to get to know Christ. One thing I've leaned is that when people look up to you, they tend to research your beliefs and almost even accept your beliefs because they believe in what you do. Thirdly I believe it’s the Holy Spirit that inspired me to start the group.
What is the vision behind the dance team?
The vision of the dance group is very simple. It's to minister life, the life of Christ to people. If people are sick, when they watch us, by God's grace, we expect that they get healed. If people are going through emotional turmoil, when they watch us dance, we expect, by God's grace that they have peace.
How do you guys juggle school and practice? Do your parents support you?
We currently have 3 members in the dance group so it's not hard to schedule rehearsal. We meet every Sunday for one hour. Our rehearsals do not affect our studies. Our parents are in full support of what we do.
What advice would you give young adults who are hesitant to do something faith based in a secular environment?
I strongly believe that if one has a strong relationship with God then ability to minister to people in a secular environment will come naturally because of the passion you have for Godly things. If you are full of God, it's going to be hard to contain that fullness of God because it's going to overflow from the inside out. I believe that once that relationship is solid, ministering to people in a secular environment wouldn't be a struggle. Now, if you already have a relationship with God, and you still struggle in stepping up in faith to do what God has called you to do in a secular environment, I would just say, keep soaking yourself in the word of God. The more you understand who Christ is in your life, the more you're strengthened to do the things he has called you to do. The bible says in the book of 2 Peter 1:3 "according to his divine power, he has given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him, who has called us into glory and virtue". What that scripture means is that God has given us the ability to a live a life of godliness through understanding whom Christ is. Which ties back to my point that, it's kind of impossible to do the things of God and step in confidence and boldness if you don't have that relationship, and if you don't know who Christ is in your life/generally. That relationship has to be there, otherwise it's going to be a big mess.
What makes you original?
We are original because that we incorporate the Holy Spirit. We always ask the Holy Spirit to help us. You will notice that a lot of our moves are inspired by the Holy Spirit. Before we dance or even before I choreograph I usually pray. I have had numerous encounters where the Holy Spirit helped me choreograph.
